Thank you Pinterest

It's tough taking credits for so called 'creativity' when all you do is copy ideas from other people ... but then again, what else do I spend so much time on Pinterest for?
It's dangerously addictive, but I'd recommend it to anyone (as I probably do) :p

Greetings from Stockholm, day one has passed way too quickly, but it was oh so lovely to see the family again!
On the agenda for tomorrow: Shopping!

Rediscovering Fårö

The island of sheep - worth a visit even if you don't necessarily think sheep are that interesting :)
All the pictures above are taken at Crêperie Tati - located inside an old gas station where everything you see takes you back in time!

MOVE from Rick Mereki on Vimeo.

A cozy foot spa evening drinking tea and watching inspirational videos online with mum. Just what a girl needs when she's feeling sick :)

Above you'll find 3 totally awesome little short films made by 3 guys on their around the world trip.

Which one is your favourite?
Doesn't it make you want to pack your backpack and leave?

Appreciating the sunset ...

Wonderful Visby ... I can't get over how nice it is to be back in town!

I found out there's actually something called the Sunset Appreciation Society.
That made me smile :)
I belong!

Perfect Sunday

After a whole summer of flea-markets I was introduced to the world of auctions today!
I think I was a little intimidated by it all ... and left empty handed, but there's always a next time!

And as if one adventure per day wasn't enough the friends I was with took me along to visit Ola who lives in an old school-building.
I've read plenty of articles about people who buy school buildings and turn them into the most amazing homes so I was pretty excited to discover one of those in real life.
I felt like a thief sneaking around with my camera so I don't think I'll post any pictures but just imagine: huge rooms, amazingly high ceilings, loads of windows letting in as much sunlight as possible, a big porch, a balcony outside the kitchen ... plus a fantastic garden with fruit trees, a vegetable patch AND a greenhouse!

I felt like impulse-buying an old school for myself :)

(the house on the picture is a miniature version of the real deal & can be found in the back yard)

On our way out of there we picked up a brave hitch-hiker ...

and had a long anticipated & fantastic late lunch at the French-owned Hablingbo Crêperie where we got lattes served in amazing Åsa Lindström-cups :)

Definitely one of the best Sundays I've had this summer!
Thanks Jon, Kalle & Jenny!

Relocation!

I'm delighted to report that we've moved! Anyone who doesn't appreciate their own kitchen, own bathroom and own livingroom should try living above a restaurant with 6 others for a couple of months!

It's too early to share any pictures of the apartment because I'm still not finished unpacking but I did make time to take pictures while I walked into town yesterday :)

2 steps from the front door ...

5 minutes walk from our new home

and the apple tree right around the corner I got very excited about.
(must remember to pick some apples when they are ripe :))

Nostalgia ...

August last year, Jamie & I were cruising around Spain, mostly on the look-out for new experiences and places to hide from the scorching sun.
It was probably not the best idea to go during the hottest time of the year - but what an adventure it was!

We perfected the art of sleeping on the beach ... first time on a beach near Gibraltar (not recommended without a tent - sand flea bites are not pleasant!)

Stumbled upon amazing views ...

And although it wasn't always very comfortable and a little crowded at times, we really learned to appreciate our little self-expanding pop-up tent :)

A handful of happiness

The absurdity of happiness is that it is embarrassing to discuss or even mention, impossible to define or measure, may not be achievable at all - or, at best, only intermittently and unconsciously - and may even turn into its opposite if directly pursued, but that it frequently turns up unexpectedly in the course of pursuing something else.
There is no tease more infuriating.

The Age of Absurdity - Michael Foley

I had to read this quote a couple of times to fully grasp it but it's so true!
The Age of Absurdity is a must read.
(sorry mum, I still have your copy, but you will get it back, I promise!)

I found happiness in a handful freshly picked raspberries the other day ... curious, isn't it?

Discovering Vamlingbo

There's many interesting things to see and learn at Vamlingbo Prästgård but what caught my eye this time was their Bee Hotel & Bee Restaurant ... and the butterflies that seem to like to hang there :)

Salmbär - Gotlandic delight :)

Picking berries and taking pictures with the macro filters I got for my birthday (Thanks Lotta!)

These are a few of my favourite things :)

Discovering Burgsvik - Part 2

Picnic by the sea anyone? That's on my wish list - now the sunshine is back I want to enjoy every single minute of it - and for some reason I'm in love with this adorable little harbour.
