Yesterday we discovered a hidden gem:
l'île de Porquerolles, one of the so called "Golden Islands", just off the coast of Toulon.
If you ever want to get away from traffic, this is the place to go, as the only people you have to share the roads with are hikers and mountainbikers.
Mum remarked that the biking felt a lot like downhill skiing at times, but without the ski lifts for the uphill parts.
I think we did an amazing job balancing the sporty bit and the lazing on the beach bit (intense birdwatching included)
and those peaches were a great reward after all the effort!
There's something fascinating about islands ... I can't put my finger on it, but I love it!
